Discount Art
Many stores are beginning to offer more discount art because
of the availability of high quality printing machines and a surge of
interest in art. It is now easy to reproduce even the largest paintings
in a resolution that is comparable to real life. The only thing missing
is the texture of the paint, and often that can be added in a few spots
by an artist to make a print look completely hand painted. Higher quality
prints are printed on the same canvases that artists use.
Posters and smaller prints are good discount art pieces to start a collection
with. Posters are often very cheap, but if taken care of can last quite
a while. A simple frame is always recommended to protect any art work,
and it can be used for posters as well. Posters are often printed with
the same inks and techniques as the more expensive prints, but instead
of high quality, durable canvas, they are printed on cheap and flexible
paper. When displayed right, a poster will look almost as good, and
cost a fraction of the cost of original artwork.
Some stores specialize in selling discount art. They often have a huge
stock of prints mounted on boards, rolled up or even framed. More popular
pictures and scenes from pop culture are available at these stores.
Some offer hand painted reproductions of old masterpieces, or cheap
original work.
