Art Crafts
Some of the materials used for art crafts are very well
known, everyday objects. Others include beads, buttons, badges, clocks,
close pins, feathers and fur. Felt, foam, glass, glitter, and leather
all make excellent craft materials. Paper is one of the most widely
use material for crafts, and is easily acquired, folded and cut.
A fun art craft to try is making puppets out of paper bags and then
throwing a puppet show. The materials needed are very basic, a paper
bag and a marker are all that is really needed, but googly eyes, yarn
for hair and different colored felts for clothes are an excellent addition.
Don’t forget the glue. After enough puppets are made, throw a
show and make those puppets live.
Many art crafts are seasonal creations. During winter time, making paper
snowflakes and Christmas cards are popular crafts. There are special
crafts for almost every holiday. A popular thanksgiving craft is drawing
turkeys by outlining a hand. The outlined fingers become the turkeys
back and feathers, and with a little red squiggle coming off the outlined
thumb a turkey appears. Coloring and decorations like real feathers
complete the illusion.
