Art Books

Art books can be found at most art stores, online stores and booksellers. The majority of books relating to art concentrate on two areas, anatomy for the artist or large color prints of artworks, however there are many fiction and non-fiction books about art and artists. Often all these books will be grouped together to make selecting one easier.

Art books for artists are remarkably similar to clinical anatomy books for doctors, with cross sections, dissections and disassembled body parts. However for the artist, many unique and beautiful poses are included, and the focus is on what can be seen, less about what is under the skin. Figures are almost always nude, and full color pages and close up pictures of the models allow for increasingly detailed drawings and paintings.

Most art books are large format, full color prints of major art pieces, often with a little bit of information about the artist. They have high quality prints that are often suitable for display if they were not bound into a book. These books are great for learning about artists and artwork.
